Ideas for HD footage going int iTunes

      Dear friends,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendadtions for profile settings to get HD footage into iTunes (in fact it's i Tunes U but I believe it's the same video specs).

I am collating a mixture of footage to be delivered via iTunes U, and am wondering what would be good settings to aim for? Because of the nature of the work I'm delaing with (it's a University where there is little standardisation of production) I'm getting material coming in that can be anythiong from SD 720x576 (which I'm happy I know what I'm dealing with) and some HD formats that I'm a bit newer to. I've done tests with a 5min 40 sec uncompressed source file

      AppleTV/iPhone 4, 720p 25fps encodings, which give 1280x720 outputs at 2.2 Mbits/second,- 96 Mb

      Apple TV/iPhone 4 960 25fps encodings, which give 960x540 1.5 Mbits/second -  60 Mb

      Customised  Apple TV/iPhone 4 960 25fps encodings, which give 960x540  which I've ramped  up to 2.5 Mbits/second  - 96 Mb file

Given taht we need to be conscious of file size as well as quality, the 960 setting at 1.5 Mbits/second seems to give a very good quality output and so I'm thinking of going for this. I was wondering what others might think?

      all the best
