Really no one knows?
I searched whole After Effects Manual for "OpenGL" and there is no word about it . On the other hand, I can see in tutorial http://tv.adobe.com/watch/digital-video-cs6/how-to-optimize-after-effects-cs6-for-high-per formance/?go=12437 that there is OpenGL version 3.0 presented inside of AE info screen.
Are you having trouble with the OpenGL features?
After Effects only uses features of OpenGL 2.0 and OpenGL 1.5. It doesn't use any features of OpenGL 3.0 or later.
On Windows, an application can tell a driver what version of OpenGL to use. After Effects is just creating an OpenGL 2 context. On Mac OS, this flexibility is not available.
Todd, thank you very much, I'm not having trouble, I was just surpsised by inconsistency and afraid that it could cause some performance issues, which I'm not aware of. You just explained me the thing. Thanks again!
