1. Re: Timeline dead in Premiere Pro CC?
Mark Mapes Nov 20, 2013 10:10 PM (in response to dpolkat3)Sounds like you need to create a sequence. Prior to CC, when you created a new project, you also went through the New Sequence dialog. That step was removed in CC because so many users create sequences from source clips.
You can either drag a clip to the New Item button in the bottom right corner of the Project Panel or, if you prefer to select a sequence preset or manually customize a sequence, go File>New>Sequence.

dpolkat3 Nov 20, 2013 11:07 PM (in response to Mark Mapes)Thanks for the tip! I was able to start a timeline with the file>new>sequence. Would have liked to use the New item button for this, but since the Media Browser is in a different window then the New item button, dropping clips and files to this button is a bit tricky.
One other thing, CS6 allowed one to expand the tracks right on the timeline (which I notice in CC is not a fixed window like in CS6) to adjust audio volume or balance with keyframes). CC doesn't allow for expanded tracks, so how does one make these adjustments?
I have and like After Effects CC, but after a few hours of working with Premiere CC, I want to go back to Premiere CS6. Have other people felt this way?? Thanks!

Vinay Dwivedi Nov 21, 2013 12:36 AM (in response to dpolkat3)Hi dpolkat3,
You can also create a sequence by right clicking on the clips in project bin and select "new sequene from clip" option. You can expand the tracks by placing a mouse cursor on it and scrolling the mouse wheel. Please make sure to select "show audio key frame" and show audio waveform options from the new wrench icon in the timeline.
Regards,
Vinay

Mark Mapes Nov 21, 2013 1:46 AM (in response to Vinay Dwivedi)In addition to the mouse-wheel method, you can double-click. You can click and drag the top of a video track or the bottom of an audio track. And in case you like different track height settings for different editing workflows, you can now save presets and even assign them keyboard shortcuts.
You might find this page in the help, umm... helpful. Search for "Set track display."

You don't drag from the Media Browser, you import clips frmo there, and then drag from the bin.
