Yes. Why do you ask? Something's wrong?
No nothing is wrong...yet. I wanted to use it to export certain text along with the page number and import that into excel. Is that possible via textexport?
I'm trying to export text out of a 416 page catalog along with the page numbers. TextExporter is exporting all the text out of the catalog except the page numbers, which are now located on the top left corner of each indesign page. Is there anyway to export the page numbers along with the rest of the text?
Our current version of TextExporter does not export page numbers or similar markers; one needs to revert to a workaround.
One workaround is to 'freeze' the page numbers before export: have a script go through the document and replace all page number markers with page numbers.
I've whipped up a little script that does this: FreezePageNumbers.jsx
Unzip and install. If you're unsure on how to install, go here:
Run the script on a copy of your document, then export, then delete the copy: the script replaces all page number markers with actual page numbers, so you don't really want that to happen to the original file.
That might do the trick - please let me know if it works! Any issues with the script, let me know: I have not extensively tested it, so there is a good chance I overlooked something and this first stab at it might not work for you.
