I've recently started doing motion graphics and I'm loving every second of After Effects.
Since I have no formal schooling or background in design, I'm finding that although I can accomplish a lot when I have an art director with me, it is indeed harder when I'm by myself to create. In those cases, I can get myself around the techniques, but can't come up with many ideas.
So, I was looking for inspiration. I do a lot of infographics and lettering. Are there courses on this? Or is there a known master to whom we all come to for inspiration when it comes to this kind of compositing?
Sign up for a conventional arts course. This has nothing to do with inspiration, you lack in basics like color theory, typography, conventional drawing techniques and all the other good stuff. Hacking around on a computer and learning more computer based stuff will never elevate you from the monkey level. Computers and programs are tools, nothing more. They have no magic of their own.
Do your self a favor and dont waste your money on taking a class like that, the only time id waste on learning this stuff is if its free at a workshop or an event like i went to in NYC (Adobe's Creative Cloud World Max Tour) Pratice, pratice and more pratice is what makes you a good designer.
