1. Re: How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads
Josh_Corey Nov 25, 2013 7:27 PM (in response to Ian Walker)It isn't really a FormsCentral issue and there isn't anything to be done in FormsCentral. It has to do with downloading from a Flash/Flex application and depends on what browser/OS you are using. I wish I could tell you something better, I agree that this is annoying to deal with.
Thanks,
Josh

2. Re: How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads
Josh_Corey Nov 25, 2013 7:32 PM (in response to Ian Walker)Are you saying that on the same computer/OS and in the same web browser that saving the form as PDF as the Author, and changing the form name while saving correctly saves the .pdf extension - but that on the same OS and web browser as a collaborator that the .pdf is not appended?
If that were the case I would investigate further but I doubt that is what you are seeing, you are likely using two different web browsers as the author and the collaborator and that is the cause of the difference you see in functionality.
If indeed you see two different behaviors as Author and Collaborator using the same web browser and operating system and are renaming the file in both cases please let me know the Operating system and web browser combination.
Thanks,
Josh

3. Re: How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads
Ian Walker Nov 25, 2013 7:39 PM (in response to Josh_Corey)Firstly, apologies for multiple posts, I received messages saying my comment hadn't posted and also checked my history before re-submitting.
Okay, the process is
1. Log in as the Author account and I can rename the file without having to set the extension
2. Log in as the Collaboartor account - same PC, browser etc and it doesn't save with a default file extension; HOWEVER, I have done this whilst also being logged in on a diffrent browser as the Author
3 I have just tried logging out as Author and only being in as the collaborator and the form downloaded with a default PDF.
4. I had someone else log in as the collaborator from thei PC and browser whilst I was still signed inunder my author account and again they were unable to save as PDF by default
This has me wondering if there is anything at play when you've got multiple Users?

Josh_Corey Nov 25, 2013 7:43 PM (in response to Ian Walker)What operating system and web browser have you been using for most of this testing? That is odd and I will look into it more.
Thanks,
Josh

5. Re: How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads
Ian Walker Nov 25, 2013 7:51 PM (in response to Ian Walker)I just checked with the other person who is the collaborator and tried from their PC and browser without anyone else accessing the forms and they can't save as PDF default.
Does it have anything to do with the level of subscription? Both the collaborator accounts I have set up are Basic users

7. Re: How to set default .PDF file extension for Form Downloads
Josh_Corey Nov 25, 2013 8:07 PM (in response to Ian Walker)If there is any difference in different subscription levels, or as a collaborator versus and author that would be a bug and we'd look into it further.
I am not able to reproduce myself now, but don't have access to IE9 at the moment. I will test this tomorrow using IE9, if I am not able to reproduce it on my own would you mind if I set up an online meeting where you could show me on your computer?
The difference based on anything in FormsCentral would be very odd.
Thanks,
Josh
