Mac OSX 10.8.5

Safari 6.1

Like an idiot I uninstalled the previous version of Flash. Now the new version does not com plete the install. Tried several downloads, reboots, etc, etc.

Is there a way around this - or is there a major flaw in the product release? HELP

Are you seeing a "General Installation error" about 50% of the way?

Yep.. that's NOT due to anything with Flash Player.

Think back to last month... Right after the 10.8.5 update, you suddenly saw a file named "mach_kernel" in your Mac HD directory.... and you trashed it, right?
