Bent Nielsen Nov 27, 2013 12:57 PM (in response to RikkFlohr)Yes.
But, but, there is a bug somewhere, because now it's working just fine. Same thing happened two days ago. Keep my fingers crossed.

RikkFlohr Nov 27, 2013 12:59 PM (in response to Bent Nielsen)If you want the LR edits included you need to select the top option.

Bent Nielsen Nov 27, 2013 1:08 PM (in response to RikkFlohr)Yes, I know & I do. Yet, on a couple of occations, the adjustments were not carried over to Pshp.

Giogua Nov 27, 2013 1:13 PM (in response to Bent Nielsen)Same problems... opening an image in PS some changes are lost (i.e crop).
I use a mac pro with Mavericks and LR 5.3 RC and PS CC (with camera raw 8.3 RC), images are RAW from a Sony A7...

Giogua Nov 27, 2013 11:29 PM (in response to Bent Nielsen)update:
it seems that adjustments made in WB (i.e exposure), Tone and Presence are properly imported in PS while Crop and Spot removals are ignored...

9. Re: Adjustments in LR do not show up in Pshp
Bent Nielsen Nov 29, 2013 2:58 PM (in response to RikkFlohr)The dialogue box in Rikk Flohr's post does not show up any more (used to, of course), regardless of wether I click cmd+E or Photo/Edit IN/Adobe Photoshop CC.
I am confused…

RikkFlohr Nov 30, 2013 4:36 AM (in response to Bent Nielsen)The dialog I show, will appear if you send a JPEG, a Tiff, or a PSD.
It will not appear if the file in question is a Raw/DNG. If you are having trouble with Raw/DNG read here: http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?19637-Lightroom-edits-not-appearing-when-usi ng-quot-Edit-in-Photoshop-quot

11. Re: Adjustments in LR do not show up in Pshp
WightGirl Nov 30, 2013 5:06 AM (in response to Bent Nielsen)I have just been looking through my settings on Lightroom 5 compared to my old Lightroom 4 as I had noticed there were no xmp sidecare files appearing where they used to alongside the image files.
It seems that you have to enable these if you want external programs such as Photoshop to recognise changes that have been made to RAW files in Lightroom. It's under Catalog settings and Metadata. 'automatically write changes into xmp'.
Information in this xmp file will tell photoshop what changes you have made. I was under the impression that with a dng, this information is embedded in the dng file, but I may be wrong. I only use RAW so I didn't pay too much attention to that bit.

12. Re: Adjustments in LR do not show up in Pshp
RikkFlohr Nov 30, 2013 5:21 AM (in response to WightGirl)XMP sidecar files are not germane to this issue. Lightroom automatically includes the develop information necessary if you send the file from LR to PS via the "Edit In" functionality.
OT: Sidecar files (or embedded in DNG information) appear only when you select a file and invoke the Save Metadata command [CTRL/CMD] [S] or when you have Autowrite XMP turned on in preferences. Autowrite XMP is a HUGE resource waste and will slow your workflow down-possibly significantly. If you regularly backup your catalog, XMP files are largley unnecessary.

WightGirl Nov 30, 2013 5:54 AM (in response to RikkFlohr)Thank you for filling me in Rikk I spent hours last night trying to find the implications of including/excluding, and I was nervous about losing information.
I cannot now find the link that seemed to imply that Photoshop would only recognise changes if they were in an XMP, but it was late, so maybe I imagined it?? I had thought metadata was only information regarding author, camera etc, and not processing info, so it didn't quite make sense. I will uncheck that box now
Ah I think it was here http://digital-photography-school.com/warning-dont-make-these-5-mistakes-in-lightroom although admittedly it is a very old post!!
