Have Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 installed on Windows 8 and first install, it's working properly, but after some time on next launch I get Error:
Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
I tried to fix it by this way: Adobe Help, but not success.

Mine was hanging on startup when updating site cache. After 48 hours of reinstalling, cleaning all prefs, etc, I tried a diiferent approach and renamed the folder of the last site I was working on. Success.
I tested the fix by then trying to renew contact with that folder - which crashed it again.
By removing, then progressively restoring, content to the folder, I determined that certain folders downloaded from the webhost server as a backup were messing with the cache.
Hope this helps others claim back a few days...
