1. Re: How do I remove transparency from a photo with transparency already in it?
Curt Y Nov 30, 2013 6:39 PM (in response to Richea)Do you want to remove the white background? If so just slelect it and delete.

3. Re: How do I remove transparency from a photo with transparency already in it?
Curt Y Nov 30, 2013 6:55 PM (in response to Richea)Is this a flattened image? Unless you have picture with the layers of the effect you would have to clone it out.

Trevor.Dennis Nov 30, 2013 6:56 PM (in response to Richea)A waste of time trying, and too easy just to start again. Do you have any of the compent parts of the image, like the arms?
I did this by selecting the mauve with a hue/saturation layer, and adjusting the hue to match the purple, but you are not going to completely get rid of the background, unles you paint over it.

7. Re: How do I remove transparency from a photo with transparency already in it?
Trevor.Dennis Nov 30, 2013 7:04 PM (in response to Richea)OK, Just use a low opacity brush on a new layer, and gently paint out the background. Use the Alt ket to sample the blue/purple tones, and keep sampling adjacent tones. If you overspill, add a layer mask to the new layer, and paint out the overspill with black in the layer mask. You can use selection tools to aid this step.

9. Re: How do I remove transparency from a photo with transparency already in it?
Trevor.Dennis Dec 1, 2013 3:02 AM (in response to Richea)Only you can say if it is right, because we don't know what you want left in the image. We can just give you the tools to do the job.
Are you OK with the soft edges, for instance? You could keep the original outline by creating a new layer, then selecting the white BG with the magic wand and adding a layer mask to the new layer. Then fill that layer with white, and keep it at the top of the stack.
If you loose those nice rings behind the hands, make a circular selection with the Marquee tool with Shift held down, and make it match the existing rings. Then sample the ring colour, and stroke the selection on a new layer. Add Gaussian blur, asn ask out the bits you don't want with the layer mask. Lower opacity to suite.
Same with the rest of it. Paint out what you don't want using a low opacity soft brush. Do it on new layers, and then recreate any lost details on seperate layers higher up the stack.
