I am having trouble using InDesign to design our school newspaper. We have to have it designed by Thursday afternoon. I am wondering how to create columns, place pictures behind text without them becoming pixilated, create headers, and just overall basic things. Our teacher didn't give us any training in using this program at all. Any and all help is appreciated!
I'm the production adviser for the student paper at my local community college, and I usually give a VERY apprebiated crash course to new staff each semester. you may download the PDF I made for CS5 from https://www.yousendit.com/download/OGhjWGJFQXBTSUR2WnRVag and see if it helps you. SOme of ht einformation is very specific to the way we work and our templates, but other parts are very general and may be useful.
I have to say it's not very reasonable to expect untrained students to produce a newspaper in InDesign without a lot of hand-holding. The only way our staff manages to produce an issue each week is we have a lot of rollover from semester to semester so there is always some senior staff on hand who can guide the newcomers.
Thank you so very much! I will get this to my teacher so everyone can look it over.
