Issues copying text including GREP styles

Hi.

I have a text frame, that contains formatted text, using styles, and one particular para style contains a GREP style, making a certain word Bold and coloured.

When I copy from this document into a new document that does not contain the styles, the para styles are brought in, but the GREP character style is not pulled in.

If the receiving document DOES contain the character style, then all is good.

Is this normal? I would have expected the character style that is attached to the Paragraph style to automatically be included in the target document.

Is there a way around this? I would like to make it as fool proof as possible, but at the moment I need to make sure I have the Character style loaded before I paste.

It works fine for me.

Have you tried the Preferences and under Clipboard Handling change it to All Information (Markers, Swatches, Styles, etc.)

Yeah. That was the first thing I checked
I didnt mention i was using CC on a Mac if that makes a difference...

It shouldn't. Try trashing the prefs -- see Replace Your Preferences

One other thing, the receiving file does not have the paragraphs style already defined, right? If a stylename already exists in the receiving file, that defintion will be used.

You are right. I deliberately cleared out ALL para and Char styles before the paste.
Will try trashing the prefs later.
