Those things can be controlled in the Preferences under Clipboard Handling.
Plus copying and pasting between applications is not recommended.
Smart Objects are only Smart in Photoshop.
They output to the Photoshop image resolution.
They only scale as a vector within photoshop.
But on output to any file format, or print - they will output as raster and the document resolution
There are no changes in copying behavior in the Creative Cloud apps. As Eugene suggested, check your preferences.
Okay. So, I guess Adobe changed the default settings, and the old behaviour is no longer the default? Being able to copy a vector object from InDesign, paste it in Photoshop, and edit it in Illustrator is really useful... and so I'm glad it's still there, just requires some tweaking of the settings. A minor annoyance. Thanks for the help.
