2009 Macbook with OS 10.6.8 using Safari 5.1.10. Multiple attempts to install Flash Player 11.9 using troubleshooting tips and a clean uninstall I have wasted days. Works fine on an older iMac using 10.6.8. It hangs up at 95% for about 15 seconds and then indicates "Installation Complete". Cannot be found in Applications or using Spotlight. Always says Blocked Plug-in when trying to use. However in FP help-Install Flash Player in 5 Easy Steps-it detects version 10.1.102 in the computer. Also cannot find this in Applications or using Spotlight. Tried install with Firefox-same result. Help

Flash Player (with one exception) is a "plugin" and not an application.
These instruction were done with OS 10.7.5. I changed what needed to be changed for 10.6.8.
Spotlight search “Flash Player.plugin” (Search “This Mac” and choose "Show All in Finder")
Right click the Plugin and select “Open Enclosing Folder” Trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt files.
Go to: [user]/Library/Preferences.
Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support. Trash the Macromedia folder there.
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Preference Panes (not Preferences, but Preference Panes). Trash the Flash Player.prefpane file there.
Empty the trash.
Download the Flash Player (For Mac OS X) again if necessary.
Quit Safari and go to your downloads folder. Double click the DMG to “mount it”.
It will appear on your desktop and a small window will open.
Double click the installer. If you see a warning, click “Open” to let it run.
Click “I have read and agree… etc.” and click “Install”. Enter your password when asked.
You may see the following: click “Force Close All” if you do, and then click “Retry”.
The installer will run.
Choose your update preference, and click “Done”.
Open Safari again and click Safari>Preferences (Cmd+,)
Go to the Security tab. Make sure “Allow all other plug-ins” is checked.
That should be a COMPLETE "clean install" for OS 10.7.5.
