csuebele Dec 3, 2013 7:35 PM (in response to ottz0)Some of our photographers use them and love them, but they're using them in a small studio shooting electronics parts from digital scanning backs, so they're moving between the camera and the monitor all the time.

csuebele Dec 3, 2013 7:49 PM (in response to ottz0)I work in a different area, so haven't used them. One of our photographers loves them over a dual screen setup. I really like dual screens. It's all what you get use to.

I have seen these 29 inch Ultra wide monitors. I was wondering if any designers are using these and what they think of them?
I have a laptop so I think a dual monitor might be a out of the question
Thanks
Do you mean the Dell Ultra-Sharp monitors? Yes I use one for my main monitor, with a 19 inch 4:3 second monitor for my Photoshop panels. Couldn't manage any other way now.
This is my main workspace

ottz0 Dec 3, 2013 8:07 PM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)Wow, Thanks Trevor, Yes i'm looking at the LG though. And then I can also use my laptop monitior which is a 18 inch screen. I think this will solve my problem of chaining 2 monitors to a laptop and rather than having 1 big monitor?

ottz0 Dec 4, 2013 2:22 AM (in response to ottz0)Do you have a problem with the format or is it setting up the correct ratio.
I mean if you draw a square are you seeing a true square?

It's all automatic. Your OS reads the info from the monitors, and sets up the resolution. For Windows dual screens got way easier with Windows 7. You can hot plug projectors and set up how they will work with the 'Windows p'. That's the key between Ctrl and Alt of course.

9. Re: 29 Inch Ultra wide screen
ottz0 Dec 4, 2013 4:04 AM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)Ok, Cause Im viewing a 29inch Ultra wide 1920x1080 and when I draw a square in photoshop is looks wider.
I was wondering if it is the aspect ratio or a setting in a display driver. When I want to make a sqaure I need to see that it is a square.
Therefore, if it is the aspect ratio are these monitors no good for web and graphic designers? Or is there a setting to correct this?
