1. Re: When I update Adobe DPS to version 29 will I be able to publish something in version 27?
Neil Enns - Adobe Dec 4, 2013 7:46 AM (in response to MABury)No, you won't. You can install the updated panels for InDesign and that's it. You don't have to update your viewer if you don't want to, and you can still make folios that target v27.

Bob Levine Dec 4, 2013 7:48 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Neil, while the folios can be 27, what about the apps themselves.
I thought the minimum for v29 will be v28. Just trying to avoid any confusion here, especially for single edition users.

MABury Dec 4, 2013 7:53 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)"Panels" refers to "DPS tools"? and "Viewer" refers to "version #"? I am still in v25 and publishing in v25 and working in CS5. Can you explain to me what I can expect if I update to v29 using CS5? A lot of our subscribers are iPad one users. I'm sorry I am just a little confused.

6. Re: When I update Adobe DPS to version 29 will I be able to publish something in version 27?
Bob Levine Dec 4, 2013 7:58 AM (in response to MABury)The viewer is the actual app and you should probably update that to v27
which is the last version supported under iOS5. After that's approved,
update to v28 or 29 and submit that to Apple. Your iPad 1 customers will
get the older update and others will get the newer one.

MABury Dec 4, 2013 7:59 AM (in response to MABury)There have been so many updates and learning curves I can't remember everything : ) Does iPad one need to be published in v27 or lower? I understand v28 will be better for me because of the Android users but I have worked around that issue for now.

8. Re: When I update Adobe DPS to version 29 will I be able to publish something in version 27?
Neil Enns - Adobe Dec 4, 2013 8:00 AM (in response to MABury)Panels refers to DPS tools, yes. Viewer refers to the thing you submit to the store.
There is no requirement that you update your viewer in the store when we release a new version of our tools. All you need to do is update the tools in InDesign and you can continue to publish folios with a target viewer version of 27 to your existing viewers in the store.
If you choose to update your viewer for some reason you will need to update it to version 28 or 29. That is just for the viewer itself though. All your old folios will contiune to work, and you can continue to create folios with a target viewer verson of 27.
You should NOT change the target viewer version of your folios unless you also update your application in the store. Otherwise your readers won't be able to open them
