Hi I want to develop a pdf e-book which features my company logo (which features text) without embedding a font(which is not licensed for ebooks), including the logo as a .jpg has given me poor/indifferentresults so far
Any suggestions appreciated
To begin with, no true logo should include live font data. Text within a correctly designed logo should be converted to outlines, and the logo should be saved and subsequently used as a vector graphic; never deployed as live text.
.. including the logo as a .jpg ..
Try PNG instead, it will result in a clearer bitmap.
Technically, SVG would be the best -- pure vector data, rendered at the native resolution of the viewer's device -- but the technology is not there yet. Most e-pub readers will simply show nuffin'. PNG, on the other hand, is supported by .. well, by at least by more readers than SVG, come to think of it.
