1. Re: How do I deactive Photoshop when it won't load?
Curt Y Dec 9, 2013 8:55 AM (in response to mf113)A reinstall rarely solves problems. Also, never delete a program, uninstall.
What OS, PS version? Did it work before? Did you add anything just before it stopped working?

mf113 Dec 9, 2013 9:13 AM (in response to Curt Y)No changes - it just froze. Same thing has been happening with Dreamweaver for a while, but I don't use it that often, so it didn't matter. But I use Photoshop every day!
I would only uninstall Photoshop, but still need to deactivate, and can't.

Curt Y Dec 9, 2013 9:28 AM (in response to mf113)Reset preferences. Start PS and immediatly hold down ctrl/shift/alt keys. If fast enough you will get a reset window. If you see the splash screen you are too late.

Curt Y Dec 9, 2013 9:39 AM (in response to mf113)It the preferences were reset try rebooting computer. If that does not work you may want to try the uninstal bit. Do not need to deactivate as you will be installing on same computer. After you uninstall would suggest you run Adobe Script Cleaner to get rid of any bits that we not uninstalled . Then reistall.
