What happens when you try? What error message do you receive? Does AE see the network drive at all?
Windows or Mac?
Is AE fully updated?
When I try to render After Effects freezes and I have to force quit. There is no error message. Yes, AE sees the drive because it allows me to set it as the save location.
I'm working on a Mac and AE is fully updated.
I have had no issues exporting to the drive using Premire and Final Cut Pro so I'm not sure why AE is having this issue.
We need a lot more information, beginning with what format and codec you are exporting to, whether this only happens with that format and codec, what exact version of After Effects you are using, and whether this has ever worked for you.
I'm using After Effects CC version 220.127.116.11
I'm exporting a very basic quicktime with or without an alpha channel. I can export to my desktop just fine and any external drives as well but not to our Coraid system.
This may be a Coraid issue and I'll contact IT about it as well.
What codec? How large is the file? Can you export other kinds of files over the network?
I'm using the Animation codec. I've tested with short and longer compositions. I've also tested this on 3 different computers using different files, all with the same result.
Again: Can you export other kinds of files over the network?
