I dropped my 2TB external hard drive on the floor a week ago and it's not looking good for restoring it so I'm trying to recover as many images as I can in other places. I was able to grab all of the cache folders from Adobe Bridge, however the images are low-res jpegs that it apparently converts probably to save disk space. Is it possible to recover these as full res raw files again or no?
only way to recover full-rez originals is to fetch from a backup, or recover from card.
I guess this is obvious now, but you should always make at least one backup of your original photo files on a different disk.
Bridge can have multiple cache folders trees: 256 (thumbnails), 1024 (previews) and full - full size jpeg previews - if any were created and saved in cache (Generate 100% Previews and Bridge preferences ). The 256 and 1024 folders are small jpegs, as you noted. If you had any 'full' folders and were able to salvage their content you might find some full size jpeg image files.
