1. Re: Arrange layers into folders like how it is in Flash?
resdesign Dec 11, 2013 5:17 AM (in response to rossfranks)Yes. Use a group div. this can be done in the elements panel. Then use display on off to show and hide.

rossfranks Dec 11, 2013 2:15 PM (in response to resdesign)Thanks redesign,
although that's not what I was after.
Say you have 100 items on your timeline, it would be so much easier on the eye if you could put some of them in folders (like in Flash) so that you don't have to scroll down and try and find one item out of 100 all the time. But I'm guessing that's not an option in this UI.
Does that makes sense?

4. Re: Arrange layers into folders like how it is in Flash?
rossfranks Dec 11, 2013 2:52 PM (in response to resdesign)Thanks resdesign,
I guess I was hoping you could close a folder in the timeline, like how you've shown in the elements panel (ie grouping.png and grouping2.png)
is there any reason why the elements panel and the timeline arent combined? It seems they almost do the same thing in regards to hiding, selecting objects etc (apart from the fact you can't close a folder in the timeline).
Thanks once again.

5. Re: Arrange layers into folders like how it is in Flash?
resdesign Dec 11, 2013 3:04 PM (in response to rossfranks)Like you, I would like to be able to have a better control on the timelime itself. It is not as easy as Flash as you said. But I am trying to forget Flash and concentrate on Edge since this is my primary software right now and Edge is very different from Flash and will never work exactly the same! I miss Flash especially for drawing vectors but this is not going to happen in Edge as far as I can tell because the technology is totally different.

6. Re: Arrange layers into folders like how it is in Flash?
rossfranks Dec 11, 2013 3:19 PM (in response to resdesign)Yeah thanks resdesign,
I'm just converting a complicated Flash animation (the one with the character outside the lab I showed you) I did a few years ago for a client into Edge and just sussing things out.
I think in the end I'll still use Flash to animate complex animations (like walk cycles, etc) but export frames into Edge. I know I gotta let go of Flash in some areas but there's things I'm missing though, like not being able to scale images clearly like you can with Flash's vector ability.
Thanks for your help.

gilligus Apr 14, 2014 1:13 PM (in response to rossfranks)But you can PancreasBoy12. My coworker did it by accident. Unfortunately, we don't know which key command did it, and we forgot how we eventually undid it. It's possible, though as you can see in Redesign's image.
