Photoshop CC Reducing my file sizes??

    Shashoo8380

      Hi,

I have a file which says it is 60mb but when I open it up in Photoshop CC is tells me that it is 3mb and is quite pixelated. This is happening with a couple of images but generally my images open at the size it states it is? Not sure where the problem lies??

      Many thanks!

We can't know. You are not providing enough info. What files? What system? From the sound of it it seems PS is opening a thumbnail/ preview of a format like EPS or TIFF, not the actual image, but we realyl need a lot more details to ascertain this.

Thanks for this, and sorry I'm a bit new to this. I will try and give more detail.

File I wish to open is a psd file and in my docs appears as 60mb, when I do command I for info it tells me 60 mb too. When I open it, it opens as a PSD with layers but has reduced drastically in size to 3mb and has pixelated.

My computer info is as follows:

            Apple iMac

            3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

            System 10.8.5

Photoshop is CC with no updates available.

            Hope this helps, thanks
