Are you using IE11 Rusty?
Yes, I have IE 11
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser. (At least until MS gets their act together)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.
Thanks… Not really an answer that I wanted to hear but it is what it is. That’s almost as bad a strategy from Microsoft as was/is Windows 8.
Again, thanks for the input. Regards,
I use Microsoft Office on my Mac, and I have Windows machines from XP through 8.1 but... MS has about a .500 batting average since Windows 95 with things that work. '98 (1st Edition), ME, XP(SP1), IE7, Vista, 8 and 8.1 have all been pure garbage IMHO. I switched to Mac almost eleven years ago. Back then "compatibility" was a major problem for Macs. Since they switched to Intel in 2005, that's history. I even run five of my Windows installs ON MY MAC.
My experience has been that OS X just works. Plug & Play isn't "Plug & Pray", and there hasn't been an Internet Explorer since 2005 for Mac. There are some things I need from Microsoft, like Office, but other than that, I can really do without them.
Thanks for all your help. I do database and VB programming for several clients using the Windows platforms. So, I am pretty well embedded with Microsoft. Changing to a MAC platform is a bit out of the question for this Senior Citizen. I have so many scars from MS over the past 30 years that I need to stay where I am. I do have Chrome and have switched to it for my default browser … works fine so far.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you and yours,
