Removed bad ram kit; CS6 crashes shortly after startup.

I had finally narrowed down what seems to have the source of my BSODS by removing a ram kit I purchased last summer, leaving me with 4 GB of DDR 3. What is odd, is that now photoshop will begin to behave very strangely. If I resize the window a couple times, the GUI will not update, leaving a largely blank screen with only some of the text. My memory usage is well within normal limits. Reinserting the other memory kit will return photoshop to normal, but causes windows to crash randomly.

I should also mention that I had been using CS6, under a different windows installation, with only the 4 GB of ram. It doesn't make any sense at all. I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall CS6, but to no avail.  32 and 64 bit versions behave the same way. Paint tool SAI and Manga Studio have had no issues, and Autodesk Maya (2012) works fine. My photoshop is the Master Collection version.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm going to try updating my GPU drivers.
