Please help! Anyone know how to ensure placed AI files in ID remain in their original colorspace? I have logos that keep defaulting to LAB once placed in Indesign even though they are created in CMYK and Spot colours respectively.
(BTW, been on technical help through the portal since October 2013 and still getting the run around from technicians in another part of the world who can't call back in the correct time zone!) And of course there is nobody to complain to, can't access a contact or anyone!

In newer versions of ID, spot colors are always shown as Lab. As for the CMYK files, what colr space is assigned to the document working space in Illustrator and are the colors defined as CMYK?

It is possible to download the legacy Pantone libraries which let you choose between Lab and a device dependent CMYK definition. I think Peter has posted that link before. The definiton only affects the display and conversion to process color and not its output as a spot. For display the Lab definiton will be more accurate on a correctly profiled monitor.
