    pilote d'affichage

    Gilles35

      Bonjour,

The first thing to do is to assure that your computer has the latest version of the video card driver according to the web site of the manufacturer of the video card. After you go to the web site and determine that you have the latest version of the video card driver, then you delete the BadDrivers.txt file. The location of that file for Premiere Elements 12 running on Windows 8 64 bit is

          Local Disc C

          Program Data

          Adobe

          Premiere Elements Folder

in the Premiere Elements Folder the BadDrivers.txt will be seen there as a file. There may be folders in the Premiere Elements Folder but you do not want them. You want the BadDrivers.txt file that exists in the Premiere Elements Folder as a file.

Please make sure that you are working with the Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you see the complete path to this BadDrivers.txt file. After you delete this current BadDrivers.txt file and open Premiere Elements, the program will generate a new BadDrivers.txt file.

Please review and then let us know the outcome.

          Thank you.

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)

What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?

Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?

-If Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

                - adobe premiere element 12 .exe

                et

                - gpusniffer.exe

                  As-tu eu une solution?

                  <

                  Bonjour,

                  - J’ai acheté, sur Amazon, Adobe Photoshop et Première Elements 12

                  - J’ai pu installer les deux DVD. Photoshop démarre normalement;

                  - Mais impossible de démarrer un nouveau projet avec Première (montage de vidéos): deux fenêtres successives s’affichent et indiquent que le pilote d’affichage serait incompatible et que je devrais le mettre à jour;

                  - J’ai posé la question sur un forum de Microsoft Community (titre: “Pilote d’affichage”);

Vos autres solutions (#4) me semblent compliquées (le Bios???)

Please excuse this late entry into your Premiere Element 12 "display issue". I would have to study all your posts, but based on what I see in this thread, I would ask

                          1. Did you pursue the deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file for Premiere Elements 12?

                          Local Disk C

                          Program Data

                          Adobe

                          Premiere Elements

and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete. Be advised, the BadDrivers.txt file is a file in the Premiere Elements Folder in that path cited. That Premiere Elements Folder has folders besides the BadDrivers.txt file. You only want the BadDrivers.txt file and not anything in those folders in the Premiere Elements Folder.

If you have not seen it before, post 10 in the following thread gives the rationale behind deleting the BadDrivers.txt file in certain display card driver issues.

                          http://forums.adobe.com/message/3177024

If I read your report correctly, I find it very interesting that you need Premiere Elements 9 installed on the same computer with Premiere Elements 12 in order to get Premiere Elements 12 to work for you. If I have understood that correctly, does Premiere Elements 12 continue to work if you uninstall Premiere Elements 9 from that computer....no leftover cleaning, just a regular uninstall via Control Panel/Installed Programs area.

Does your Premiere Elements 12 "work" if you install and run if from a new User Account with Administrastive Privileges on the same computer?

                            Hi Romano,

I'll try to write in English...

Thanks for your reply and advice...

I'll try to delete the famous "Bad drivers.txt file"... I'll do that for the fun as, now, I work with VideoPad ... In fact, I bought PE12 for nothing...

I think you did not read my report correctly.

PE12 was installed correctly... But it was impossible to start a new project (because of the wrong message about the cards).

But I had on this computer PE9: it was a "version d'évaluation"  (In French) never activated (it remains now 4 days...).

It was possible to open a new projet with this PE9, not with PE12....  PE12 didn't work when PE9 was installed.

                            Best,

                              Unfortunatly I didn't find the BadDriver.txt file...

However I followed your path and I found PE folder etc.

Some times ago, I tried the solution with "Administrative Privileges"...

                                Julien,

Do you have "Show Hidden and System Files" checked in the OS's Control Panel>Folder Options? If not, you will not see the BadDrivers.TXT file, but if you check "Show Hidden... " it should be right where ATR directed you.

                                Good luck,

I do not recall seeing what computer operating system your Premiere Elements is running on.

If it is Windows 7 64 bit, the easiest way to Folder Options is by clicking on Search and entering Field Options in the Search field above the Start Button. Then click on Folder Options that appears at that top left column of the screen. Next Folder Options/View/ and then scroll for the option of the Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives and make sure that it is selected.

If you have Windows 8 or 8.1, go to the Metro interface, type File Explorer and follow that route to the View/Options/Change folder and search options/Folder Options/View/

Please let us know the outcome when you find and delete the BadDrivers.txt file in the location that I cited back in post 10

After you delete the BadDrivers.txt file in the path cited, when the program is reopened a BadDrivers.txt file will be generated by the program (that is normal) but the problem hopefully is gone.

The BadDrivers.txt file deletion was therefore not your answer for your problem. Have you read the rationale behind the deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file when display card error message present? If not, please see post numbered 10 in the following older thread in which BadDrivers.txt file deletion first became a major remedy.

                                      http://forums.adobe.com/message/3177024

Since that time until now, the BadDrivers.txt file has resolved the issue when having the latest version of the video card driver was not the answer.

                                      Please remind me,

                                      a. Is your computer working with 1 or 2 video cards/graphics cards?

                                      b. Are you working from a multi-computer monitor set up?
