    Homesite Feature Request

Please kindly update HTML help files for Coldfusion 8. The team responsible for Homesite should wake up from the slumber.

There is a persistent sloppiness in the way Adobe is handling the Homesite update for Coldfusion 8. The help files for Coldfusion 8 are not helpful at all. They miss information that is vital to the developer.

For example, compare the Livedocs documentation on cfquery with that of Homesite+[{HOMESITE_HOME}\Extensions\Docs\CFMLTags\cfquery.htm]. Having just the paragraphs Description, Syntax and Example, the Homesite version is disgracefully thin. Most of the vital headings like Category, See Also, History, Attributes and Usage are missing. This applies to all the help files for tags, and also to all the help files for functions in the directory \Extensions\Docs\CFMLFunctions\. Homesite's help files are too meagre to be of much use.

They say nothing about the attributes of a tag or about the parameters of a function. It doesn't get more fundamental than that. Yet, no one at Adobe seems to bother. We've been complaining about it for some time. See for example:

      http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=1&catid=3&threadid=12 99253
      http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=1&catid=3&threadid=13 04932

Could you please redo all the HTML help files, for tags as well as for functions, so that they match the content of the Coldfusion 8 Livedocs. With the current help files, it is practically impossible to develop Coldfusion 8 on Homesite.
