I've seen that sample, and while its interesting it also seems to not be applicable to my needs. I'm charting hierarchical data with grouping and summaries rather then traversing an XML tree. Which seems to mean that while I can go down, I cant go back up.
Setting an Object in an array to the dataProvider at each point before you drill in so that you can later return to that level seems to work, but its a bit of a kludge.

Wow, thats more or less perfect. I just need to tweak the effects to deal with more then one data series. Thanks a bundle.
Hum.. seems I also need a means to detect if your at the top level and stop you from drilling out. Shouldn't be too hard.
EDIT: Easy enough, just added another if check in the drill-up loop.
Next problem however is that this method disconnects the chart from the advanced data grid. But its getting closer.
EDIT: Duh, I must need more sleep. Just needed to point both the grid and the chart to the hView.
