I received another 'Update Adobe Flash Player' request when there had not been an internet connection for over twelve hours. The requests appear to be too frequent for common sense. No update details are provided. Am I being hacked? I'm coming to distrust your company. Please tell me what is really going on?
Adobe has set "release dates" for incremental updates. They're about every six weeks on average. That info is coded into your Adobe updater, which installs with the Player. Based on the date & time of your system, the updater will begin prompting you to update, whether you're connected or not... because your system date & time don't require a connection to run.
You can disable automatic updates (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/713/a7138026.html) and it'll turn off the notifications... BUT... you're on your own to update your software if you do that.
Can you post a screenshot of such an update request?
I don't think the Flash Player updater will offer an update when there is no Internet connection.
