Automatic vs. Manual SEO strategies for BC?

      Hi folks,

BC supposedly makes a few things easier with SEO, with automatic sitemapping submissions, RSS feeds, etc., but my clients are seeing irregular results from their websites and no noticeable improvements to their visits or search.  For my non-BC clients we have an intensive strategy of social media, but BC implies that it makes it easy for customers to do their own with blogging, and linking to their FB, etc. (BTW, is that API still out of commission ? )

I am not naive and know that SEO is not magic, but I am wondering what strategies or services or features you are using in conjunction with BC that you have found to be successful.   I'm also wondering if Adobe is doing anything right, effective, or special in terms of promotion of BC sites to Search.  If Google, e.g., downgrades cookie cutter sites on places like Yahoo, or sees them as mass marketing of low value, is BC in danger of being considered just another web creation mill that is discounted because it is a factory CMS site?

We already use Google analytics in addition to BC's.     We have in the past used Google ads, which we find to be of a severely declining value in terms of ROI and cost per click for our competitive markets.

Does anyone use Attracta or a service like that?  Or what has anyone found to be the most effective tools for promotion?

      TIA,

      Jeff
