I am sorry, I just realised that part of my sentences was incomplete. I meant 'saving the project is also excruciatingly slow and most often AE stops responding'
Thanks for your time :-) !
Can you restart the Mac OS and see if that clears up this issue? If so, it could be that the OS is swapping to disk.
What do you mean by restart the Mac OS - just restarting the computer? If so, I have done that and it makes no difference.
I am sorry to sound ignorant, but what does 'swapping to disk' mean?
When the system RAM (memory) is maxed out, the OS will start paging ("swapping") to disk to free up memory. If you bring up the Activitiy Monitor utility and go to the System Memory tab you will see a column of numbers just to the right of the pie graph. At the bottom it should list "Swap used". If this number is greater than a few megabytes, the memory is being swapped to the hard drive.
Another thing to check is the free space on the drive. Slow saving can happen when the drive is running out of room.
I have loads of free space and the swap reads at 5.8 MB.
I have been using the Warp Stabilizer in alot of my compositions, perhaps this could be the problem?
Not only in certain effects or plug-ins.
- After Effects CC is very, very slow, both opening as saving.
- 5 or 6 times SLOWER than its prececessor. the CS6 (the relatively fast).
LET'S WORK ON THAT?
Or let's stick to put warm cloths in serious trouble?
