Chuck Uebele Dec 19, 2013 6:16 AM (in response to Juststarted)Are you saying all files close, so there is nothing open in PS? HDR does open the files and merge them, but you should have one file left that is the HDR composite.

Juststarted Dec 19, 2013 3:36 PM (in response to Chuck Uebele)Thank you csuebele
There is no HDR composite at all. I saw layers opening, but then nothing left.
I tried another way by
Choose File > Automate > Merge To HDR Pro.
but still got the same.
Scratching my head

Chuck Uebele Dec 19, 2013 5:10 PM (in response to Juststarted)Both methods use the same support scripts, so it not suprising that it's not working with either method. However, I don't know what's going on.

4. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
Heirloom Bob Dec 19, 2013 6:00 PM (in response to Juststarted)Could it be an issue of file sizes on your merged files? Are you merging big files and don't have the capacity on your PC?

5. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
ChandlerBob Apr 29, 2014 9:39 AM (in response to Heirloom Bob)I'm having the same issue using Bridge CC. I select five RAW images in Adobe Bridge CC, go to Tools->Photoshop->Merge to HDR Pro... and nothing happens. As mentioned by Heirloom Bob above, how would I know if the files were to large. I've done some pretty wild GigaPans before, but never had an issue in the past using older versions of Photoshop. Just recently upgraded to CC versions from CS3, and although I've never used Bridge in the past, It was recommended as an easy interface for PS, so I gave it a try, but nothing. I have Mavericks 10.9.2, MacPro 3,1 with 20GB RAM and 2TB of diskspace. I also just installed NIK software, during part of a lesson from Lynda.com; however, I don't know whether it worked before NIK (Collection) or not.
Does anyone have any recent experience with this issue?

JustusM Apr 30, 2014 12:44 PM (in response to ChandlerBob)ChandlerBob,
I'm only trying to merge 3 raw images, and I'm having the same problem. I've tried to open through Lightroom 5, and directly open through PS CC, I'm experiencing the identical same thing. I see files opening, and then it ends blank with nothing open.

7. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
Warunicorn Apr 30, 2014 1:03 PM (in response to JustusM)I can repro this but it seems to happen only with RAW files (Fujifilm's RAF files in particular). If I go to open them one at a time in Photoshop CC and *then* do HDR Pro with already-open files, it works. Odd.
Using a Windows 8.1 (with Update) PC so it sounds like it's not platform-specific.

Robert DiTommaso Jul 9, 2014 2:19 PM (in response to GoThirdrail)Had the same issue, just finished a very long support call with Adobe. Turns out that since I deleted Photoshop CC once CC 2014 was installed, that resulted in the scripts being deleted. The fix was to uninstall Lightroom and Photoshop CC 2104 and reinstall. Not fun, but everything works again.

12. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
GoThirdrail Jul 10, 2014 6:13 AM (in response to Robert DiTommaso)Thank you Robert, I figured that is what it was because I deleted PS CC after installing CC 2014. Just sad that they're products don't work correctly and really ticked me off that 2014 couldn't have been an update and not an entirely new application. That's just not what the cloud is all about...

13. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
mikioi60 Jul 10, 2014 7:44 AM (in response to GoThirdrail)Actually I was very pleased to see that it was not an update but a new installation. If the new versions were to update your previous installation, eventually you would be forced to upgrade your computer to meet the requirements of the new version and would have no option to use a prior version. ..

Thanks for that info, Robert.

ninjaMonkeyStudio Aug 15, 2014 11:10 AM (in response to Juststarted)I'm having the same problem as the original post described. Bracketed set opens in Photoshop, but then disappears. Other bracketed sets will be processed and opened in the Merge dialog box, but when deghosting is applied the images look awful and the histogram reflects that. I'm working with Camera Raw files.

Have you updated to Camera RAW 9.0? HDR works differently if you have.

heronsong Jun 13, 2015 2:15 PM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)I have the same problem. LR doesn't seem to be sending the files to Photoshop. Now working through Edit In menu only, but there seems to be anew engine in PS that fails tr render the great natural-looking merges, now offers several options none of which seem to work very well.

22. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
mx200394 Jul 8, 2016 8:06 AM (in response to Juststarted)I have the same issue with Photoshop CC. I took one shot and adjusted it so that one frame is perfectly exposed to all correct levels for colour and the histogram has nothing peaking. All adjusted so it is close to center. RAW Files open up in HDR merge pro and will create the HDR image I would like. But when I saved this one image as a PSD and did HDR merge pro it would open the multiple files and go through the motions of creating an image for HDR. But then the final rendered version for me to adjust would not open. I would check the folders to make sure it did not save a file anywhere, which it did not even save a back up or a rendered version. I got no error messages at all either.
The RAW File I converted was a PEF file and saved it as a PSD file. Any suggestions. I would like to do this in Photoshop over using Lightroom because lightroom does not provide as many tools as I would like and creates extra steps.

rolfp96169282 Aug 10, 2016 2:16 PM (in response to Juststarted)Same problem as the original post. I use CS6 and Camera Raw 9.6.1.
But HDR pro does work well on camera-bracketed jpeg photos.
It does not work on pictures that I saved from Camera Raw, neither psd, tif or jpeg. -
24. Re: Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC
chelsey832 Nov 28, 2016 9:58 AM (in response to Juststarted)Same issue as some of you above. I am an instructor at a college and the current topic is Photoshop. We have 2015.5 CC installed in the computer labs. About 25 students tried an exercise of using Automate to Merge to HDR Pro (all 25 students were using the exact same photos) and just a handful (about 5) of them didn't get a result at all. Photoshop just did nothing. Nothing opened. I'm not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. We just skipped that whole topic as a class.

M_Schloegl Apr 2, 2018 2:44 AM (in response to Juststarted)And now, suddenly, I've got the same problem with CC 2018. Good I still have CS4 installed, never had problems with that one. Actually, I can see all 3 images load and open, then the merge action doesn't appear and the file is just closed.
