The minimum system requirement for InDesign CC on Windows is Windows 7, SP1. I'm actually surprised it would install on Vista. In fact, the version number 6.1.7601 is, I thnk, Windows 7.
Did it ever work?
Do you have any third party plugins? Does this happen with all files, just new files, or only a single file? Have you tried replacing the prefs (see Replace Your Preferences)?
Have you tried working in a new user account?
Right. That is not Vista.
I do have to wonder if that was an upgrade install of Windows 7, though.
Sorry, yes it is a clean install of Windows 7. I was tired (look at the time stamp) when I posted.
AMD hexicore @ 4ghz
2x NVidia GTX580 GC's
I don't know if that matters much but that is what it is.
InDesign was working fine...that day. It had been crashing once before in pre-flight. An update restart seemed to fix it before.
So what have you changed since it was working? Installed new fonts?
So, did you try trashing your prefs? Peter posted a link earlier.
Nothing had changed, and I installed no new fonts. The type I was working with was a licen$ed version of Helvetica Neue regular at 8pt.
I actually got it to thread last night at about 2am by saving the file as a CS4 file, then reopening it and saving as a CC file. It is working so far.
Adobe, don't you know people have to make a living here!!??
You are not talking to Adobe. We're user's like you.
And you could have saved us some time if you'd told us previously that you exported to .idml (which is what we would have told you to do, had you answered the question about whether it was a single file in the affirmative).
