I've been sent copy with open single quotes where there should be apostrophes.
If I use the Find/Change feature, what do I type in for the one I don't want and for the one I do want, so that I can change a bunch at a time?
I see that the Forums have changed since I last entered. Will this send me an email so I know it has been answered?
In Find I would copy/paste the single quotes you want to get rid of, and in Change type the apostrophe you need. Hit Change All and it will change all of them at once. Just be aware that this will change all the single quotes in your document to apostrophe. Regarding notifications, you can check Receive email notifications under "Actions" on the right side of the screen.
To avoid changing the legitimate cases you can use a negative look-behind for \s (any white space).
The find change should work with US and English apostrophes. It does not work correctly in other languages, e.g. in German I use either »«, ›‹ or „”, ,’. When I use the guilment style find/change becomes confused with the single closing apostrophes. Maybe that is because they are the other way round as in Swiss German or French.
