Welcome to the forum.
- Which version of PrE are you using?
- What pixel x pixel size are you encountering this message with?
Until fairly recently, the max. size was 4096 x 4096 pixels, but that was increased in about PrE 11.
However, even with the max. file size increase, the ability to use overly-large Still Images will depend on the power of one's computer.
Good luck, and let us know a bit more please.
Sorry to be so cryptic. We're using the trial version of Premiere Elements 12. We cannot change the frame size in the program. Some images are larger than the frame size and work fine, but others, also larger than the frame size, do not. Being bad and math, I'm not sure if the size of the "bad" files totals over 4096 X 4096. Is that what I should look at? We did see this number in the help information.
In PrE 12, that old 4096 x 4096 pixel size has been increased. I do not have the new max. handy, but it's pretty large - much larger than 4096 x 4096.
To exceed the new max. pixel x pixel dimensions, the Still Images will be very, very large.
In Premiere Elements 12, right-click on one of the photos on your timeline and select Show Properties. It will show you the photo's dimensions.
Although you'd be better opening the photo in Photoshop Elements, where you'll be able to resize your photos to the recommended 2000x1500 pixels in size.
