How to copy Fireworks path into AE?

Has anyone had any success copying a path from Fireworks CS6 into After Affects CC?

AE Help states it is possible to paste in paths from Illustrator, Photoshop, and Fireworks as an After Effects mask, shape, or motion path.

Photoshop paths paste in fine, however nothing seems to happen when I try pasting a Firework path copied with "Edit > Copy".

Fireworks' "Edit > Copy as Vectors" doesn't work either. When going back into After Effects, it pops up "After Effects error: could not parse mask shape on clipboard."

I'm much more fluent with Fireworks, so I'd prefer to use it for path work if possible.

What version of Fireworks and AE? What OS?

I didn't install Fireworks so I can't test it but it used to work.

Thanks Rick,

Fireworks CS6 (12.0.1.273) and After Effects CC (12.2.0.52) on Windows 7 64-bit.

A copied AE path happily pastes straight into Fireworks, but tweaking it then copying it back to AE doesn't work.
