1. Re: Set default image editor to open in PS on second networked computer?
Omke Oudeman Dec 28, 2013 1:17 PM (in response to INTYME1985)I want to use my older single monitor PC1 as my media browser, but actually edit in the multi-monitor workspace of my newer faster machine.
Bridge is not designed nor officially supported for use over a network. However there is no objecting to have both Bridge and PS (preferred) on your fast machine and your files on your older machine. You simple can point Bridge to the folders on this machine and build the cache (The central Cache should also preferable be on your fastest machine for best performances).
If you open a file of your older machine using Bridge on your new machine it auto opens in PS on the same machine by default. You can work on the files (having much RAM and a separate scratch disk also helps performances increase) and save the file when ready to wherever you want.
The only downside is the files open as fast or slow as your connection is permitting it. Transferring through a longer cable is always slower then a short direct internal connection of your main system.

INTYME1985 Dec 28, 2013 2:22 PM (in response to Omke Oudeman)Thanks, I thought there might be setting, I didn't realize it required network software.
