I just picked up an RX100 and obviously Adobe Photoshop CS2s ACR is not able to open this camera's RAW files. So, I downloaded Adobe's DNG converter v8.3 and converted some of my RAW files to DNG. However, CS2 is still not opening the DNG files.
I still get the error - Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document
Generic icons in Adobe Bridge: Even after performing - Tools > Cache > Purge Central Cache.
Error once trying to open the DNG files:
Location of ACR 3.7 plug in. I even removed the old and reinstalled the new:
Any other ideas of what to look at? This is very frustrating.. I want to tinker with some of my new pictures. Sony's Image Data Converter is horrid and I'd rather not spend $$$ buying new software to do something I should be able to do right now, albeit more time consuming with all the conversion.
Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.
there are several versions of DNG specs and you have rather ancient ACR version, so make sure that you are converting to a compatible (version wise) DNG - select the right version in Adobe DNG converter
Thank you! Yes.. That was the issue. CS2 is now opening the DNGs.
Yes, this ACR version is rather old.. I installed lightroom 5 on the better half's machine, since I'm still on WinXP. Lr5 definitely has a bit more flexibility to it. But, this will do for now.
