I have text which is threaded across several text frames. I want to use objects, paragraph or character (probably character?) styles so that the text formatting in each text frame is different. i.e. Frame 1 is bold, Frame 2 is in another font, and so on.
Previously I just manually selected what was in the text frame and set the formatting but the difficulty with this was when applying the text formatting, the text might spill over to the next frame or vice versa and then I needed to reapply the formatting. I want to set this so that when the text reflows I do not have to re-apply paragraph/character styles. Splitting the text up into discreet frames will not work either because of the reflowing.
ID doesn't work that way. Text formatting is applied either at the character or paragraph level, not the frame level (except you can apply fomatting to all text in an unthreaded frame by selecting the frame). If the frames are threaded, you have to select the text in some manner to apply the formatting.
