I have installed three times. It doesn't work!

I have installed the flash player three times now. Everytime that it install it, it says that I am done. Yet, when I need to use it, it does not work and tells me to install the flash player. I have even followed the forum provided for Macs. I just got this computer and have never had it on here before. I am desperate for help!
