I have only recently purchased a new Canon Rebel T3i and chose to buy Premiere Elements as my video editor. This is my first venture into video editing and therefore I'm quiet new to everything. Upon imorting my footage into Premiere Elements (which is in the .MOV format) no orange line will appear over the video. The playback is then incredibly choppy and laggy and impossible to edit. The video recording size is 1920x1080 with 25fps. I have attempted converting the video to numerous different video formats but the problem continues to persist.
I am currently using an Acer Aspire 2920 with a 2.2GHz Intel Celeron processor. It is a 32 bit operating system running on Windows 7 Ultimate with 2.00 GB RAM.
I would be incredibly grateful if someone could tell me where the problem lies as it has been like this for over a week now and is driving me completely insane!
Your computer is way underpowered for editing hi-def video, Jamiean. Celeron processors barely have enough umpth for even basic video editor.
In my books, I recommend at least a dual-core Intel processor with 4 gigs of RAM. For editing hi-def DSLR footage, I'd recommend a quad core i5, a 64-bit operating system and 4+ gig of RAM.
Below is more about Premiere Pro, but if you MUST use a laptop, you need a MUCH more powerful laptop with your camera
