I've been searching all over for an answer to this, but I haven't found anything. What I want to do is quite simple: click on a link in the links palette, and get the name of the file that I've selected. Mind you, this is selecting the link ONLY in the links palette, not selecting the graphic on the document. I realize I can right click the link and choose copy info, but this initial copying of the name is part of a larger script I'm working on. And I can get the filename by clicking on the graphic on the document. But I can't figure out how to make InDesign realize that I have clicked on something only in the links palette. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
The selection made in the Links panel is unavailable to scripting so you can't do this.
Oh bummer, I had a feeling that was going to be the answer. But it's good to know for sure so I can stop searching. Guess I'll just have to go with clicking on the actual graphic, and not the link in the panel. Thanks for the info!
