I'm not surprised it broke for you when you turned your wifi off. If you're referring to the EdgeCommons via remote loading (e.g. yepnope goes to the CDN), you won't have access to it. You'll need to load the EdgeCommons locally. Also, webfonts by definition need access to the network, so you will need to refer to local fonts or have local fonts referenced via local CSS.
