Is it true that I can't read PDF files with Acrobat PDF reader that are in my network folder that is readonly?
I want my collegues give acces to PDF files on a network drive and gave them only read rights. However they cant open the PDF files directly from that location.
However when they copy the file to a local location (for example desktop) they can open the files.
What is the use of a PDF file that you can not change, but not open because it needs write permissions??
Kind regards, Herbert
What version of Reader do they use?
What exact message do they get?
Dutch message they do get: Er is een fout opgetreden tijdens het openen van dit document. Toegang geweigerd.
Translation: There is an error occured during opening of this document. Access denied.
The version now installed is 11.0.05 (Dutch version). I updated Acrobat reader.
However when I select a PDF file not openend before, I still see the error message above. After closing the Error message and AR, I open the exact file again, and now it opens without error message.
So the description of the error is still valid but a bit different.
