Expanding menu

Hi all,

Looking to expand these tabs for a navigation solution.

Click Earth Science an a list of menu items drops down. At the same time i want the button to change color and shove the other items down. Then when it closes other tabs will move back nice. So kind'a like an accordion.

Any examples of this or how to logicly set this up?
