Can someone else receive responses to forms that I create?

    StarJockey

I am the only individual in my company who has Acrobat Pro (XI), all others use Reader. I am often required to create and distribute forms. This is typically not a problem as the forms are distributed via email and the responses come to my email address. I would like to create a form whose responses will be directed to another individual in our organization.

I don't use Forms Central. I create the form and save a copy locally (or on a network drive) for distribution via email. I have tried sending the "distributed" form from my colleague's email address (the submit button in the form designates this individual's address), but the form response comes to my email address.

      Is this possible? How?

      Thanks

          Hi;

It wasn't clear to me if you "are not using FormsCentral" just for the data collection (saving PDF without the FormsCentral Submit button to submit back to FormsCentral) but are creating the form in FormsCentral and saving as a PDF, or if you are not using FormsCentral at all...

It does not make much difference - basically you can create a "Submit" button to email the response to anyone you define, here is a YouTube video describing the process: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jql1wp5Gofs

If the PDF was created in FormsCentral you will want to review this document on how to edit the FormsCentral PDF in Acrobat: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2462

          Thanks,

          Josh

            Josh,

            Thanks for the fast response.

I do not use Forms Central at all.

I watched the youTube video you suggested, but I already know how to

            create these buttons.

The problem I am trying to solve is this: When I create a form and

distribute it via email, all responses come back to my email address

(regardless of the address that I have designated in the email button).

I have created the attached form, and I would like the responses to be

delivered to the person designated in the email button. I have not been

able to accomplish this. I have placed the "distributed" and "responses"

files on this individual's hard drive, and had her send the "distributed"

file to me as a test. I filled the form in and clicked on the Submit

(email) button. An email message appeared with the form attached, but the

email was automatically addressed to ME.

            Any help would be appreciated.

            Thanks,

              Josh,

Thanks for the fast response. I do not use Forms Central at all. I watched the youTube video you suggested, but I already know how to create these buttons.

The problem I am trying to solve is this: When I create a form and distribute it via email, all responses come back to my email address (regardless of the address that I have designated in the email button).

I have created a form, and I would like the responses to be delivered to the person designated in the Submit (email) button of that form. I have not been able to accomplish this. I have placed the "distributed" and "responses" files on the other individual's hard drive, and had her send the "distributed" file to me as a test. I filled the form in and clicked on the Submit (email) button. An email message popped up with the form attached, but the email was automatically addressed to ME, not her.

              Any help would be appreciated.

                Hi;

Unless the form filler is creating an email and sending you back the filled out PDF - the response would be sent to the email defined on the Submit button (mailto:), I can't really say how you could be recieving those and not the person defined on that submit button.

For better help with this Acrobat forms issue you should post in the Acrobat forms forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/forms

                Thanks,

                Josh

Hi, I had this issue & FIXED it

Ive created pdf forms in the past with LiveCycle. Hosted them on websites and had the submition go to inboxes as pdfs (that are not me) fine in the past. When I needed to amend the form, it stopped working.

                  Heres how I fixed it

                  in LiveCycle 8

                  > deleted submit button

                  > created new 'Email submit button' (yes theres a difference!)

                  > go into xml view > search for submit format="xml" change to ="pdf"

                  > save > close

open in Acrobat pro > advance > extend feature in adobe reader

(this lets users save a partly completed form to their PC, to submit later)

                  > Then I DONT use the Asobe distribute method,

                  > I just publish the pdf to a website

One other way: If the responses come back to your e-mail, you could always create a filter/rule to automatically redirect/forward the response e-mails to the other person.

                    Just a thought.
