I am trying to add a watermark to my video. I have a color logo that I am using that is a jpg file. It's a 3 color logo with some white in the image. Within After Effects, I have the solid black bacground and then my logo. Of course within Premier Pro the black background is not seen but the logo has a white rectagnle backround surrounding it. I have tried to cut that background out it photoshop but it still shows up in Premier Pro. Tried everything short of Rototool and that seems like the hard way. Is there an easier solotion.
Use a rectangular mask on the layer to get rid of the white border. Use the Luma Key effect to get rid of the black. Adjust scale, position and opacity to taste. Maybe use one of the blend modes.
JPEGS do not support transparency. Take the logo into Photoshop and use the tools there remove the background then either save the file as a Photoshop file or a PNG, bring it into AE and problem is solved.
