    Clearing out speech analysis

    reindeer4 Community Member

Is there a way to clear the speech analysis / text analysis metadata so all the words son't show up as markers when I bring into after effects (I do need the clip markers - but want to get rid of the speech and hoping I don't haveto  do that one word at a time.

      Thanks

I don't even know if this will work, but the only thing I can think of is to close the project, delete both the Media Cache and the Media Cache Files (locations to be found in Edit>Preferences>Media...).  Then move the media to a new folder, and when you reopen that project, point PP to the new location.

On a side note, this is a good example of why we need project specific cache folders.

I'm pretty sure deleting the Media Cache is the way to go, non-idael as it may be, so let us know if that works for you and we'll mark Jim's response as correct (I'd like to know for certain too). I'm thinking there may be a way to do it outside of PrPro, through AME, but not sure how, so if anyone has has success with that, please let us know.

Won't be able to check that now because I'm (unfortunately) in the middle of breaking and trying to fix things.

Here is a solution that was posted on Creative Cow - which I think worked, though I've already blundered into new problems.

http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/928644  (Involves setting After effects preferences not to use the metadata for the markers from speech)

Now, so I can get back on track, is there a way to terminate a dynamic link that I started in Premiere Pro, because I want to go back and start in in After Effects.  I though things got terminated automatically when you shut the programs.  But link seems to be persisting, because any changes made in AFX are reflected in Premiere.

You'll have to replace the linked comp in the sequence with the original clip, and then delete the linked comp from the bin.

Also, is there a way to add labels or any information to Clip Markers - or can that only be done with sequence markers?

You can double-click a clip marker to add info, or use the Marker panel.

Prelude has more capabilities for this, though.

Looking in my Proect panel - I have my two original wav files and my two original video clips, plus the Linked Composition and Sequence - but I don't have anything (other than the linked clip) which has all the work I did to merge the two video and audio files other than the link clip.  So I think I may just have to dmake due on this project and keep that linked pclip because I don't want to lose the work I already put into it.

Thought I'd tried that - but must have either had the Markers panle closed or didn't have the Video Clip selected

So, only question now is: is there a way to recover the original work I did in Premiere (where I basically merged two video files and audio files, taking the parts I wanted from each and then adding transitions)?  That work has been preserved in my dynamic linked clip in after effects, but not sure how to remove the link and don't see anything else in project panel where this was saved
