How do you turn off web player in order to download flashplayer 12

I am trying to download adobe flashplayer 12 and I keep getting a prompt saying to turn off web player, I have no idea what this even is nor how to turn it off, I don't even know where I would find this....I am very frustrated right now and just need this done already
