Trying to create a volleyball highlight video for my daughter ... need help with 3 things:
* highlighting something in a video ... pausing the video briefly with a halo / circle and then resuming it ... how do i do that?
* creating a title that runs the length of the video ... how do I do it and not have to re-do it when I add new clips?
* how to I add a title page and change how long it and the text remain visibile?
You can add a highlight to your video using the Lighting Effects effect.
I show you step by step how to do this in my special effects book, if you're interested, as well as 49 other video special effects for Premiere Elements. Here's the version of the book that applies to version 10.
The book has also been updated for versions 11 and 12.
To create a title that runs to any length, just add it to a video track above your main video track. Then extend it as long as you need it. (Make sure you're working in Timeline mode; not Sceneline.)
I like Steve's Lighting Effect method, as it is very simple to accomplish.
There are also several other methods, that can give a different "look." This article covers some of those: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1765005#1765005
As far a "pausing" the action, one can create a Freeze Frame of the last Frame on a Clip, then insert that, between the Video Clips. The Duration can be increased, or decreased, as needed, and some of the same "highlighting" techniques can be employed to it, as well.
